How To Create Beach Waves

I love the natural and effortless look of beach waves.  Even more, I love how easy it is to create beach waves.  Follow my step-by-step tutorial to achieve this look:

Products used:

  • Start by spraying dry shampoo into the roots of your hair and rub in.  This helps absorb any oils and also adds body to the hair.  (Yes I am wearing an Ariel shirt.  I was channeling my inner mermaid)

Easy Glam Eyes Tutorial

This glam eye makeup look was achieved with using only one eyeshadow color.  Yes, I said one!  Follow this super easy step-by-step photo tutorial to get the look!

  1. Prime eyelids using a shadow primer.
  2. Using a tapered blending brush sweep Gilded Envy all into the crease to build a base.
  3. Using your finger, dab that same color all over your eyelid up into the crease.
  4. Using the same tapered blending brush, apply slightly more shadow to the crease to build intensity and blend out.
  5. Line upper lash line with black liner.
  6. Line lower outer water line with black liner and extend and connect to upper lash line to create a wing.
  7. The liner doesn’t have to perfect because next you will smudge it out with a smudger brush.
  8. Clean off the smudger brush and sweep Gilded Envy onto lower lash line, blending into the liner and apply to the tear duct area.
  9. Apply mascara.  For extra glam, apply lashes.  (See how to apply false lashes here)

How To Fill In Eyebrows

To fill in your eyebrows here are a few items you will need:

Be sure your eyebrows a prepped and shaped. (Click here for tips)

A Quick Tip on finding the right shade:

-For lighter haired people try to go 1-2 shades darker than the color of their hair.

-For darker haired people try to go 1-2 shades lighter than the color of their hair.

It isn’t always rule of thumb and may take some trial and error before finding the perfect shade.

  • Begin by brushing eyebrows up and outwards following the natural hair growth with a spoolie or brush.

How To Shape Your Eyebrows

Here are several tips on how to shape your eyebrows.

Prepping the brows:

  • First and foremost you want to prep your eyebrows.  Tweeze away any predominant strays below your brow bone and in the center.  Don’t worry about tweezing too precisely yet, that will come later.

  • (Try to avoid plucking the stray eyebrows above your brow bone.  I recommend using an eyebrow razor to shave away any strays.  Unfortunately, as you get older brows tend to disappear and if you pluck them all away you won’t have anything to work with later in life.)

  • If you have brow hair that is longer than your natural shape then you will want to trim the excess.  The easiest way to do this is to brush the hair up with a spoolie or eyebrow brush and trim away excess hair with brow scissors following as close as you can with the shape of the brow.

Quick Tip Tuesday: Spin Brush Tip

A spin brush is an excellent tool to have in your skin care regimen.  They cleanse the skin more deeply and more efficiently than cleansing with your hands alone.  They help to remove bacteria, reduces pore size and exfoliates for more visibly radiant skin.

If you have ever used a spin brush and experienced breakouts, this could be caused by not cleansing the face completely before use.  The key is to remove as much makeup as possible using a cleansing towelette or wipe.  Make sure there is no more product transferring onto the wipe before using the brush.  Reason being is the spin brush can push the makeup into the pores further, which is a possible cause for the breakouts.

Glowing Summer Bronze Makeup Tutorial

Hey beauties!  I hope everyone is staying cool this summer.  Overall, we’ve had a pretty mild summer here in the District, until this week.  I’m pretty sure my skin melted off earlier just from walking outside so that leads me to today’s post.  I’m going to show you my go-to glowing summer bronze makeup look, which happens to also be sweat proof.   The key is to use waterproof and cream base products then set them with powder products and finish up with a setting spray.  This will prolong the wear of the makeup.  Follow this step-by-step photo tutorial to get the look!

Quick Tip Tuesday: Summer Glow

For an extra glow this summer add loose shimmer pigment to your sunscreen or body lotion and rub into skin as desired.

As you can see, loose pigment can be a tad messy as mine went everywhere so I recommend applying over a towel.

Add a little for a subtle glow as pictured above, or add a lot if you prefer to be brighter than the sun!! 💥😎🌞
