How To: Cover Your Eyebrows

With Halloween lurking right around the corner, it has given me inspiration to create some new costume ideas. Which I will be sharing on the blog in future upcoming posts.  Today I’m going to show you how to cover your eyebrows for Halloween makeup.  You could also use this method for drag makeup, cosplay or if a certain look you want requires a different eyebrow shape.

What you’ll need:

  • Disposable mascara wand
  • Elmer’s Washable Glue Stick (disappearing purple)
  • Translucent Loose Powder
  • Concealer in your skin tone
  • Powder brush or Beauty Blender

Steps:

  1. Make sure face and brows are thoroughly cleansed
  2. Cover entire brow surface with glue.
  3. Brush brows upward and towards the way they would naturally grow with a mascara wand.  If you brush them like normal, there will be a slight hump and still be rather noticeable.  The glue will be tacky but continue to brush until brows lay flat.
  4. Let glue dry (when the purple from the glue turns clear) then apply loose powder over the brows.  This sets the glue and acts as a barrier for the next layer of glue to adhere to for smoother application, and shows brow hairs that were possibly missed by the first layer.  Dust away any excess powder.
  5. Apply another thick layer of glue.  Two layers should be plenty but can repeat if necessary.
  6. Allow glue to dry.
  7. Dab concealer onto brows and blend into skin.  Do this lightly because you don’t want any of the glue to flake away and mess up all the work you just put into it.
  8. If wearing foundation, apply now.  If you’re doing a specific Halloween look you can apply your face paint now.
