Jigsaw Halloween Makeup

Do you want to play a game?  No, not really, I think I’ll pass…

My sister came to visit me a few weeks ago and we decided to turn ourselves into Pennywise (click here for that tutorial) and Jigsaw.  We were trying to decide what other vilan we could do, besides Pennywise, when we discovered a new Saw movie was being released this month.  It made perfect sense to add Jigsaw in the mix.  We had a blast doing this together, we were freaking each other out while laughing our heads off at the same time.  The dogs were even freaked out, they were barking and growling.  It was definitely one of my favorite sister nights.

Let’s get to it….

What you’ll need:

  • White, red and black face paint
  • Deep red lipstick
  • Black & red eyeshadow
  • Translucent, white powder/shadow or baby powder – colorless
  • Cotton balls (optional)
  • Elmer’s glue or liquid latex (optional)
  • Black wig
  • White button up shirt
  • Black blazer
  • Red Bow tie (I didn’t have one so used a red handkerchief)

Get the look:

  1. Start with a freshly cleansed face.
  2. Cover eyebrows with a glue to stick to block them out. (Optional-it does hide the hair and helps the face paint blend in better.)  To see how click here.
  3. You could skip these next two steps and just paint eyebrows/cheeks straight onto the face but we wanted to give it more of a 3D look.  Lay down a layer of glue/latex above the eyebrows and shape a cotton ball into fluffy shaped brows and place on top of the adhesive.  Apply a layer of glue or latex over the brows to seal cotton and hold in place.  Allow to dry.  Set with powder.
  4. Repeat steps for the cheeks.  Lay down a layer of glue on the apples of your cheek and shape cotton balls into a circular ball and place on top of the glue. Apply a layer of glue or latex over the cheeks to seal cotton and hold in place.  Allow to dry.  Set with powder.  [Sidenote:  Start by shaping the cotton balls into the shape you prefer.  I couldn’t shape them after I stuck them down so they ended up being more marshmallow shaped than I wanted].
  5. Paint entire face and neck with white face paint (leaving eyes blank) and generously set with powder.
  6. Using the red paint, draw and fill in circles on the center of your eyelid for Jigsaw’s eyes and set with red eyeshadow.  If you don’t set it, it will crease quickly.
  7. Then lightly paint around the cheekbones in a circular motion with red face paint.
  8. Fill in rest of eye area with black face paint and a small pupil in the center of red eye.  Set with black shadow.
  9. Draw two black lines down the chin starting at each corner of the mouth.
  10. Sloppily add deep red lipstick to lips.
  11. Slick hair back with gel and tightly braid or pin as close to the nape of the neck as possible and put on the black wig.

You could ride around on a red tricycle to raise the creepy factor….
